Arbor Day Tree Planting Ceremony to Take Place

NEWS RELEASE
17 April 06

Town of Bath officials will once again make an Arbor Day proclamation at a tree planting ceremony to be held at the Route 9 East “Welcome to Berkeley Springs” sign. The proclamation will be read at noon on Thursday, April 20th.  West Virginia Division of Forestry personnel will be on hand to represent The National Arbor Day Foundation. They will present Town officials with signs designating the Town of Bath as a Tree City USA.

Also on the agenda is the planting of a red bud tree by members of the Ecology Coalition of Morgan County to kick off the upcoming third annual Red Bud Weekend to be held 21-23 April. The tree will be added to the landscape designed by the Morgan County Master Gardeners with plants donated by the Foxglove Garden Club.

In addition, a “Thank You Oak” will be presented to a Morgan county homeowner who planted the first tree on the Morgan county tree planting initiative called ”A Time to Plant Trees”. The public is invited to attend.
